Dr. George K Papadimas M.D., Ph.D. is a Senior Consultant Neurologist at the 1st Department of Neurology at Eginition Hospital, and he is the Head of the Laboratory and the Outpatient Clinic for Muscle Diseases.
He is a graduate of the Medical School of the University of Patras, and he obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of Experimental Pharmacology at the University of Athens. He was trained in Neurology at Eginition Hospital, and he completed a fellowship in neuromuscular diseases (Friedrich-Baur-Institute, LMU, Munich, Germany), after receiving a scholarship from the Hellenic Neurological Society (1st prize). His research interest is focused on the pathogenesis and treatment of neuromuscular diseases. He is also a member of the World Muscle Society and the Scientific Advisory Board of the Federation of European Myotonic Dystrophy Associations (Euro-DyMA). He is actively involved in the organization of centers of excellence, and he is a member of the Greek National Committee for Rare Diseases and a board member of the Euro-NMD network. He is the principal investigator in many clinical trials, and he also collaborates on a number of international research projects on neuromuscular diseases. He is the co-author of many scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
