Παναγιώτης Αρκουμανέας
Director and Health Industries Leader, PwC Greece
Panagiotis Arkoumaneas currently holds the position of Director and Health Industries Leader at PwC Greece, focusing on large-scale strategy and operations projects for both public and private institutions of the Greek healthcare ecosystem.
He has served as the President of the National Organization for Public Health (EODY), 2019-2021, where he led the transformation of EODY into a modern organization and successfully spearheaded the national effort against COVID-19.
During that time, as a member of the Management Board at ECDC and as member of the Health Security Committee, he was actively involved in developing and implementing public, interest-driven policies and took up numerous initiatives that led to a new level of preparedness and response architecture in Greece.
He has participated under different capacities in the following bodies: Management Board of European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, EU Health Security Committee, National Public Health Council, Government Committee for the Coordination and Management of the Vaccination for COVID-19, Executive Committee of the Central Health Council of Greece, Government Observatory for COVID-10 – Greek Welfare Committee.
From 2004 to 2006, he was Senior Special Advisor to the Minister of Health. His work there revolved around health infrastructure, national capabilities building, strategy and funding initiatives, exemplified by, inter Alia, the design and development of the country’s Health Map, the formation of Public-Private Partnerships and selected legislative initiatives and reforms.
