Constantina Vasileiou
Project Officer, WHO Athens Quality of Care and Patient Safety Office
Constantina Vasileiou is a Project Officer on Quality of Care at the WHO Athens Quality of Care and Patient Safety Office. Since 2021, she has worked with WHO at the intersection of health policy, research, system strengthening, and implementation, with a primary focus on quality and patient safety, patient-centred care, primary healthcare–public health integration, health literacy, and stakeholder engagement. She has contributed to evidence-informed frameworks, tools, and peer-reviewed publications, and has supported major regional and national initiatives, including the development of the National Strategy for Quality of Care and Patient Safety in Greece, the WHO European Focal Points Network on Quality of Care and Patient Safety, the initiation of WHO Collaborating Centres, and the WHO European Autumn Schools on Quality of Care and Patient Safety.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Greek Philology (Linguistics) and an MSc in Health Promotion and Education from the Medical School of Athens, both awarded by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she previously worked as a research fellow at the Department of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics, contributing to public health and health promotion programmes. Her experience includes designing and implementing health promotion and prevention interventions, developing training and educational materials, and supporting evidence-based public health and quality of care work across national and international settings.
