Thanos Myloneros
Public Health Officer, WHO Athens Quality of Care and Patient Safety Office
Thanos Myloneros (MPH, MSc) is a Public Health Officer at the WHO Athens Office on Quality of Care and Patient Safety. A public health and health systems specialist, he has collaborated with WHO in various capacities since 2017, contributing to major health reform projects in Greece. In recent years, he has also coordinated the WHO European Public Health Leadership Course. In 2024, he received the WHO European Region ‘Regional Director’s Excellence Award for Teams.’ He is the author of a university-adopted textbook on the Basic Concepts of Public Health and has written or co-written several peer-reviewed articles and widely circulated media pieces on public health. Thanos holds a degree in Public Administration from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, and two master’s degrees: an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and an MSc in Health and Welfare Institutions Management from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers.
